I have always enjoyed looking at flower and vegetable gardens, especially a well-maintained vegetable garden; how beautiful! But even that cannot compare to the feeling you get when you sit near a water garden. The tranquility and peacefulness are hard to describe. There is something about water that is so soothing; it is no wonder that water features are so popular. What a wonderful way to unwind from your hectic pace and find a little vacation spot right in your own yard. There are so many choices available that you should take the time to check around and see different ideas. Do you want something small like a tub garden that will fit on a deck or patio? Or do you want a preformed pond that goes into the ground? What about a pond you build yourself and do you want a stream or waterfall? Carefully examine your choices and do some studying. Many nurseries have demonstration water gardens; there are many books and magazines on water gardening. Visit your library for ideas and ask other gardeners. The maintenance of a water garden is not the same as regular gardening. You will need to know a whole new way gardening. Algae can become a problem. The most common algae is string algae. Barley Straw is highly recommended for this algae. We have friends at PondSolutions that sell barley straw and just about anything else you need for water gardening along with much information about it. There is no sense of me repeating all they have to say about water gardening so if you want further information click here to visit their web site. Just don’t forget to come back and visit us again.
